About Greg Weldon: At nearly seven-feet tall Greg Weldon has a unique perspective on the world, and with nearly four decades of experience in the trenches of the war that takes place daily in the global capital markets, Greg also bring his razor-sharp instincts, and his vast range of experiences in both good global economic times and bad, to the table, each and every day. After playing Division One collegiate basketball at Colgate University, Greg got his start in the financial industry in the pits, literally … beginning in 1983 in New York City’s World Trade Center on the trading floor of the Commodities Exchange (COMEX) dealing in the Gold and Silver “rings”, after which he spent time learning the financial futures markets during his time as an institutional broker at Lehman Brothers and Prudential Securities in downtown NYC. In the early nineties he went on to be hired on as a Portfolio Manager for one of the most successful hedge funds in the history of the industry, Moore Capital Management in mid-town Manhattan, and then for the venerable commodities-think-tank “Commodities Corporation”, located in a farmhouse in Princeton NJ. Finally he stepped out on his own as the CEO of Weldon Financial in 1997, to pursue his personal mission of helping individual investors to not only survive the evermore treacherous and volatile global markets, but to also guide them to a position where they can thrive. Indeed one great example came when in 2006 Greg wrote the book “Gold Trading Boot Camp, How to Master the Basics and Become a Successful Commodities Trader” published by John Wiley and Sons … in which he predicted a sub-prime Mortgage debt induced Housing crisis, and said that the Federal Reserve would be forced to print dollars and buy government debt as the only way to save the economy and US consumer from a debt deflation. BAM, he “called” QE three years before anyone had ever heard about it. That is just one of a multitude of prescient macro-market “calls” Greg has made over his nearly FOUR DECADES of experience as a speculator, as a Series 3 (government) licensed and registered Commodity Trading Advisor and media personality/market commentator. Greg has appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box, Power Lunch, and Fast Money, not to mention Bloomberg, FOX Business News, and is a sought after key note speaker at international financial conferences.
